Where do we go from here?

The Building Industry needs a great shake up. Recommendations from the Royal Commission will be tough and directed to all sectors of the Construction and Building Industry. The consumer deserves more protection and accountability. They need to be safeguarded by unscrupulous developers and builders that involve themselves only for the profit and not the reputation. The solution can only come with a much greater participation from all stakeholders within the Industry. Accountability and proper certification from independent parties at construction stage would be a great start, aiming at reforming the Industry. Increased inspection and supervision process needs to be implemented by Government bodies and Certifiers, in order to ensure quality of construction and ultimately, protection to the consumer.
